May is Military Appreciation Month
May is Chevrolet Military Appreciation Month, and Nucar’s Lewes Automall is showing their appreciation to our troops through a number of different promotions.
- All Active & Retired Military personnel receive 15% off service during May 2012. Not valid on tire purchases or with any other discounts.
- During May, the GM Military Discount program – already recognized as the best program in the industry – will be extended to spouses of Active and Reserve members, as well as retirees of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard and Coast Guard. The discount is available on most Chevrolet, Buick and GMC models with discounts typically ranging between $500 and $4,000 off the suggested retail price of the vehicle purchased.
- In addition, the GM Military Discount offers a $750 discount on selected Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles to eligible members of USAA.
- For every person who purchases, leases or orders a new Chevrolet using the GM Military Discount in May, Chevrolet will provide an exclusive “Honor” vehicle badge, as well as contributing $100 to Cell Phones for Soldiers, a non-profit group that provides free communication tools to troops serving overseas. Chevrolet and its dealers have collected more than 50,000 cell phones and have provided more than 114 million minutes – or more than 200 years – of free calls home for U.S. troops. Nucar’s Lewes Automall is a collection site and we would be happy to receive any old cell phones that you would like to donate to benefit our troops.
Denim Day
Nucar’s Lewes Automall is participating in Denim Day on select Fridays each month. Denim Day is about coming together in an act of solidarity to show support for all kinds of programs, from National Cancer programs to local charities, and shelters. The idea is that each employee donates $5.00 and wears jeans to work to show that they are part of this effort to fund the important work of these great causes. So, if you see Lewes AutoMall employees in jeans on Friday, you know we are fighting for a great cause. Join us by contributing at Nucar's Lewes AutoMall. This month and next we are supporting Above and Beyond English Setter Rescue, a group that has been saving English Setters for over 10 years. The 2012 Sonic Has Arrived!
October 3rd, 2011 - Our first Chevrolet Sonic has arrived! We don't expect this unit to last long because it is so eagerly anticipated and has gotten such great reviews. Keeping Kids Safe Finger Printing Event
We are hosting the Keeping Kids Safe Project, which is a free digital fingerprint and photo program for all children, on Friday, October 14th from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 15th from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Service Building. The organization, S.I.P. Kids will take your child's picture and fingerprints, using a digital inkless fingerprint capture device, and provide you with a file for each child which you can use to give to authorities in case an investigation is ever needed. All records will be kept in the privacy of your own home. Various community organizations will be present to provide safety information to families. Again, this program is free. Simply stop by during the appointed hours and enjoy some entertainment, education, and a huge measure of relief knowing you've done everything you can to keep your child safe.

Program for Non-Profit Donations
Are you a member of a local non-profit group looking for donations to fund your organization? We have a new program that can help. We can provide your non-profit organization or club with special business cards that you can give to your members. If any member (or their families or friends) buys a car and presents the special business card, Nucar’s Lewes Automall will make a $100 donation to your organization. Changes to Certified Pre-Owned Program
In an effort to attract more car buyers to Chevrolet, Buick and GMC dealerships, General Motors will now offer two-year, 30,00-mile standard vehicle maintenance package as part of its Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle program. The no-cost maintenance program includes free oil changes whenever the Oil Life Monitor system says one is needed, tire rotations and multi-point inspections.
The announcement, which is now in effect, comes in addition to a one-year, 12,000-mile overall warranty, a five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty and a 172-point inspection. GM will also continue to offer a free trial of OnStar and XM Satellite Radio.
GM sales director Jennifer Costabile says that the move will give customers more for their money, adding that the program "offers our customers an outstanding experience from the moment they drive their Chevrolet, Buick or GMC Certified Pre-Owned vehicle off of the lot." The General hopes that the program will increase the value of the Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle program, while also lowering the total cost of vehicle ownership. GM Preferred Owner Program Now Has Points Plus
We are pleased to announce that participants in the GM Preferred Owner Program can now earn points through an online shopping experience called Points Plus. For those of you who don't already participate in the Preferred Owner Program, signing up to be a "Preferred Owner" is free. You simply tell your Service Advisor that you want to enroll and you will get a Preferred Owner card. After that, present your card to the cashier any time you pay for anything at the dealership, and points are put on your account which can be used toward future purchases. The great news is that by teaming up with online retailers such as eBay, homedepot.com, bestbuy.com, target.com and hundreds of others, GM has made it possible for you to earn points from your online shopping. This is how it works: each time you want to shop online, log in to your Preferred Owner account via the website www.gmpreferredowner.com and see if the online retailer you want participates in the program. If so, just make sure that each time you shop with that retailer, you navigate to the retailer's page from the gmpreferredowner.com page. Any purchase you make will result in points being added to your preferred owner account. However, it takes about 30-45 days for the points to show up on your account. To get to the Preferred Owner login screen quickly, we've added a "Earn Bonus Points" button to our website. Two New Salespeople Join the Used Car Team
March 3, 2011 - With the retirement of long-time Used Car Salesperson, Dave Richman, in January, Nucar’s Lewes Automall has added two new salespeople to the Used Car Sales force in the last two months. First, is Rick Whaley who rejoined Nucar’s Lewes Automall after a three year absence. Rick is pleased to be able to serve his long-time Sussex County clients from his new location. Second, is Mark Greytak who trasferred from Nucar Chevrolet in New Castle. Mark is a recent newlywed who relocated to Lewes when he and his bride bought a home here. He is pleased to bring his 20+ years of car sales experience to Nucar’s Lewes Automall and the beach!

Service Department Expands Their Hours
January 3, 2011 - The Service Department is expanding their hours to provide more convenience for our customers. Service will now be open until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully, the expanded hours will be an added convenience for our customers. The Sales Department hours are unchanged, opening at 8:30 Monday through Friday and closing at 7:00 every day except for Friday and Saturday.

Pisha Eliason
October 14, 2010 - A valued member of our Nucar’s Lewes Automall family, Patricia Ramsay Eliason of Millsboro, Del., passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010. She was 59. The daughter of Thomas W. Eliason of Chestertown, and the late Virginia Hoopes Eliason, "Pisha" was born in Chestertown Jan. 27, 1951. She was a graduate of St. Anne's School in Charlottesville, Va., and a 1973 graduate of Washington College. Pisha had been with the dealership since 1995, when it was still operating as C.P. Diver, and was the trusted right-hand to Cliff Diver. Her warmth, knowledge, organization skills, steady presence, admirable work-ethic and professional demeanor will be greatly missed by her friends and family. We were lucky to have her while we did.

October 14, 2010 - Nucar’s Lewes Automall has donated a 2011 Buick Regal to the Cape Henlopen Senior Center. Keeping Kids Safe Great Success
September 27, 2010 - On Friday, September 24th and Saturday, September 25th, we sponsored a "Keeping Kids Safe" finger-printing event. During those two days, over 180 children had their finger-prints and photos taken. The parents received a handy information car with this information and a section for them to complete the vital statistics for each child. These cards are held by the parents for use in an emergency when authorities are called in to help locate the child. We are proud to have helped our community with this effort. Nucar’s Lewes Automall Becomes a Collection Center for Cell Phones for Soldiers
Cell Phones for Soldiers turns old cell phones into prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas. To do this, Cell Phones for Soldiers collects cell phones each month through a network of more than 3,000 collection sites across the country. The phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each donated phone - enough to provide an hour of talk time to soldiers abroad.

Regal Comes Out on Top of the KBB Hot Car Report
July 23, 2010 - KBB's Hot Car Report says that "The vehicle that experienced the greatest increase in share of traffic week-over-week is the Buick Regal. Even though the current Buick Sales event is pushing out 2010 models, it is the 2011 Regal that increased its share 58.1 percent. Rounding out the Top 5 Movers are the Audi Q5, Dodge Nitro, Audi S5 and Volkswagen CC. All Top Movers are benefiting from increased interest generated by summer sales events." In a gratifying analysis, the editors at KBB conclude, "Can the doubters please identify themselves and step aside? When GM announced closing Saturn and Pontiac, most observers agreed but couldn't understand the decision to keep Buick. Beyond the implications of closing such a successful brand that is "growing by leaps and bounds" in China, GM obviously has a plan for Buick in the U.S. that is starting to bear fruit. After driving the all-new Regal, Kelley Blue Book can assure you that these shoppers will be more than pleased once they visit the dealership for a test drive. The Regal is a stylish and engaging alternative to VW's Passat and CC, both of which are priced much higher.
