The 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500

Performance

The 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 is highly configurable, featuring six trims, three cab styles, and two bed lengths. There are also two engines to choose from, starting with a 6.6-liter gasoline V8 rated at 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. Optional for all trims is a 6.6-liter diesel V8 engine that achieves 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque.

This is 34 more horsepower and 65 more lb-ft of torque than last year’s diesel V8. The improvements to this engine also raise the max towing capacity of this new Chevy truck to a class-leading 22,070lbs, which is 3,570lbs more than last year.

This unstoppable trim combines max towing and payload capacity with a wealth of rugged upgrades, including Multimatic® DSSV dampers, a 1.5-inch suspension lift, and 35-inch Mud Terrain Goodyear tires.
